Ralph Lawrence Capila, Jr.

Ralph L. Capila, Jr., 75 of Lake Shore, Florida passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at The Oaks of Avon. He was born on May 19, 1940 in Akron, Ohio to the late Ralph and Loa Capila, Sr. and retired to Florida in 2008. He retired from the Plain Dealer in Cleveland, Ohio. Ralph was a dedicated leader in the Boy Scouts when his son was an active member, he enjoyed woodworking, was an avid football fan. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of Vietnam serving in the National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Helen Capila; son, Kevin Capila (Teresa) of Lake Wales; daughter, Kim Taylor of Akron, Ohio; sister, Carol Smithberger of Streetsboro, Ohio; 3 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Silver Hill Cemetery with Chaplain David Springer officiating. Marion Nelson Funeral Home handling arrangements.
