LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Queenie Huggins Witt of Lake Wales died of heart failure Thursday (March 23, 2006) at Lake Wales Medical Center. She was 92.

Born in West Bay on March 14, 1914, she came to Lake Wales from there in 1953. She was a retired fruit picker and canner for Donald Duck. She was a past member of the VFW. She was a member of Alturas Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Witt was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Huggins; and second husband, Dan Witt. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Sharpe, Debbie Scarborough, both of Lake Wales, Cathy Conner, Alturas, Wanda Main, Arley, Ala.; son, Jim Buck Sims, Alturas; sister, Betty Bass, Lake Wales; 40 grandchildren; 67 greatgrandchildren; more than 35 greatgreat-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Lake Wales Cemetery.
