Putt Boucher

May 10, 1923 — November 2, 2007

PUTT BOUCHER, 84

LAKE WALES--Putt Boucher passed away November 2, 2007 after a long battle with alzheimers. She was born May 10, 1923 to Irving and Lillian Boucher.

Her accomplishments included personal secretary to Mrs. Agler Cook at Mt. Lake and New York. After her father’s death, she continued the operation of Five Acres Turkey Farm but she is best remembered for The Pet Motel and her involvement with the Polk County Humane Society, serving as its president for many years. Her love of animals and their care was obvious, but especially the endangerment of wolves. She adopted and supported wolves in Idaho and visited them each summer.

Putt’s hobbies were many and indicated her extraordinary talents: a scratch golfer, equestrian, artist, calligrapher, photographer, and gourmet cook.

She is survived by her nephew and nieces: Kip & Linda Balliett & Marrijane Balliett of Lake Wales; Bunny & Harv Buckner of Lakeland; and Puddin & Ralph Bornheim of Roswell, GA.

Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM, Monday, November 05, 2007 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Polk County Humane Society.
