Preston James Dow of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at Winter Haven Hospital.

He was born April 19, 1970 in Paterson, New Jersey and lived in New Jersey for most of his life. In 2020, Preston moved to Winter Haven, Florida with his wife and children for a new beginning. Preston was able to fulfill his dream of finishing school to pursue a career in Addictions Counseling, achieving the Dean’s List twice, and was looking forward to using his life experiences to help those in need. Preston was an avid Jets fan at times (unless they were losing). He had a strong faith in God. Preston believed that every day is a gift and through Him, anything is possible.

Preston is survived by his wife of eight years, Nicole Dow; daughters, Jasmine  Solnick-Dow of Indian Trail, North Carolina, Arianna Dow of Winter Haven, and Laylania Dow of Winter Haven; sons, Darren Solnick-Dow of Indian Trail, North Carolina and Aiden Dow of Winter Haven; mother, Deborah Shumate of Southampton, New Jersey; father-in-law, Billy Dixon of Lake Wales; brother-in-law, Brandon Dixon of Lake Wales; and sister-in-law, Corin Dixon of Lake Wales.

Preston was a loving husband and devoted father. Everything Preston did was for his wife and kids. He was in recovery and never strayed. He wanted to be a role model and someone that all of his children would be proud to call Dad. Preston’s goals were to give his children the best life possible and to show his girls (with his wife) what a loving relationship is so they would be able to find true happiness one day with a good man, a man of God.

Preston touched the lives of many and even during his low days was an inspiration to many people facing health issues through his positive mindset, determination, and faith in God. Preston will forever be missed and we will always remember the remarkable man he was.
