Phillip W. Griffin

Phillip W. Griffin of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Tampa General Hospital.

He was born November 16, 1941 in Chipley, FL to the late Leslie Ard & Clide Ophelia (Sharron) Griffin; he came here from Chipley in 1963. He was the president for Griffin Bookkeeping and of the Baptist faith.

Phillip was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Abner Griffin. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sue Griffin; daughter, Rhonda Talmadge of Lake Wales; son, Chris Griffin of Lake Wales; foster child, Steve Harris of Virginia; sister, Virginia Griffin of Perry, FL; brothers, Donald E. Griffin of Quinlan, TX, Aldin Griffin of Titusville, FL and Jerry L. Griffin of Mulberry, FL; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Jerrod, Shawn, Keaton and Dawson; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with viewing beginning at 2:00 PM.
