Philip Henry Rufa of Lake Wales passed away Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Dove Health Care due to heart failure.

Born October 31, 1921 in Chicago, IL; he moved to Lake Wales after selling his mobile home park in Tampa in 1995. He was a retired photo engraver for Alco-Gravure, of the Catholic faith, and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Philip is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Julia Rufa, three brothers, Adam, Charles and Herbert Rufa, and two sisters, Julia Ford and Margaret Rufa. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mae V. Rufa; step-son, Frank Johnson (wife – Virginia) of Colorado; sisters, Bernice Deckman of Germantown, TN and Gertrude Rufa of Chicago, IL; two step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
