LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Penny E. Stockwell of Lake Wales died of cancer Thursday (Nov. 3, 2005) at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. She was 55.

Born in Waukesha, Wis., on April 7, 1950, she came to Lake Wales from Tampa in 1997. She was a branch manager for Gateway Insurance Co. of Lakeland. She was a member of the Polk County Women's Golfing Association. She was a Protestant.

Mrs. Stockwell is survived by her husband, William C. "Bill" Stockwell; brother, Gary Schopp, Burlington, Wis.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Lake Wales Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Polk County Humane Society.
