Paula Karen Alford, 65

Paula Karen Alford of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at her home surrounded by family and a lifelong friend.

She was born March 29, 1956 in Lake Wales to Wayne and Mary Fillingim. Paula retired from Lake Wales Charter Schools.  She was the registered nurse for the charter schools system where she managed both Health Services and the Homeless Program for the system. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.

Paula was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Fillingim. She is survived by her mother Mary Fillingim, her husband of 45 years, Mark M. Alford; sons, Daniel M. Alford and wife Brandi of Fairfax Station, Virginia, and David C. Alford and wife Melissa of Crawfordville; sister, Marsha Brown and husband Jerry of Lake Wales; and two grandchildren, Clara and Noah Alford.

A memorial service is scheduled for April 7 ^th 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Lake Wales Charter Schools Backpack Program (Attn: Health Services, 130 East Central Avenue, Lake Wales, Florida 33853) or the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd Backpack Program.
