Paul R. Stafford

Paul R. Stafford of Hiawassee, GA (formerly of Lake Wales) passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

He was born September 22, 1925 in Ashland, KY to the late Leslie and Florence (Ratliff) Stafford; and moved to Lake Wales in 1970 . He was a retired shoe retailer (owner/operator) of Stafford Shoes in Lake Wales and Ashland, KY, was of the Methodist faith, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Lois R. Stafford of Hiawassee, GA; daughters, Jennifer Langford of York, SC, Sherry Williams of Ashland, KY, Sue Fossom of Catlettsburg, KY; sons, Jim Stafford of Lake Wales, Walt Stafford of Blairsville, GA; and eight grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Lake Wales Cemetery, with Rev. Keith Thompson officiating. Family will be receiving friends at 1:00 PM at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. For those who wish, contributions may be made in his memory to Shady Grove United Methodist Church, P.O.
