Paul Griffin, Jr.

L. Paul Griffin, Jr., a devoted family man, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 24, 2025.

He was born on August 30, 1934, in Lake Wales, Florida. Paul led a life dedicated to his family and his work, serving as a mechanic at Mountain Lake and a long-time custodian at Golfview Baptist Church. Throughout his years, Paul had a deep love for the outdoors including vegetable and flower gardening, as well as fishing. He also had a collection of pocketknives, a testament to his appreciation for craftsmanship and history.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Lida Griffin; son, Keith Griffin; and four siblings. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Betty Griffin, and their children: Faith Griffin, Catherine Hope Cataquet, Joyce Jones and husband Scott, John Griffin, and Cassie Eller and husband Kevin. He was also a proud grandfather to 16 grandchildren and had the joy of being a great-grandfather to 27 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2025 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2025 at Lake Wales Cemetery. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.marionnelsonfuneralhom.com.
