Patti S. Thornell

Patti Sue (Jordan) Thornell, 72, passed away on May 16, 2011 at Winter Haven Hospital.

She was born August 16, 1938, in Springfield, Ohio to the late Wilbur and Elizabeth Jordan. Raised in Ohio, she moved to the Lake Wales area 15 years ago.
Patti graduated from Northwestern High School and attended Wittenberg University. Patti married Richard Thornell for 21 years, prior to mutually deciding to go their separate ways. During those 21 years, they had five children and an equally full life. When Patti moved to Florida to take care of her parents, she also became manager of several hotel and retail facilities, which she retired from in 2000. Patti had many interests and hobbies including playing in bridge tournaments, travelling, dancing and enjoying every day with close friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joyce Hosier and grandson Jeremy Bullock.

Survivors include her daughter Pamela (Thornell) and Dan Mauricio of Lawrenceburg, IN; daughter Robin (Thornell) and Bill Bullock, and grandchildren Joshua, Sam, Max and Kaitlyn of Eagle River, AK; son Rick and Carolyn Thornell and grandchildren Natalie and Erika of Loveland, OH; son Brian and Jenney Thornell and grandchildren Jessica and Madison of Miamisburg, OH; son Robert and grandchild Brittany of Lake Wales, FL; and sister Sandy Lehmann of MI.

No local service is scheduled at this time. A memorial service will be held at the Cox Arboretum in Miamisburg Ohio on her birthday to celebrate her life. Condolences may be sent to the family at thornell@embarqmail.com.
