Patsy "Pat" Overall Spate

Pat Spate, of Lake Wales, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 after a short battle with cancer.

She was born December 31, 1938 to the late Alvie Nay and Minnie Mae (Hill) Overall. Raised in Memphis, TN, Pat had been a resident of Lake Wales since 1974 coming from West Palm Beach. She was a paralegal, retiring after 48 years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grand- and great grandchildren. She took great pleasure in cooking for her family, attending "cousins" reunions in Memphis and Frayser High School (Class of 1956) reunions, and volunteering at the Lake Wales Medical Center gift shop. She attended the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (Tom) Spate. Survivors include her daughter, Shawn Spate Albritton of Lake Wales; her son, Scott Thomas Spate of Lake Wales; 2 brothers, Ken Overall (Jo Anne) of Collierville, TN; Jerrold Overall (Elaine) of Cordova, TN; 3 grandsons, Adam Albritton (Erin) of Lake Wales, Kyle Albritton of Lake Wales, and Jacob Albritton of Washington D.C.; and 2 great grandsons, Grant Cooper Albritton and Wade Thomas Albritton.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales with Rev. Scott Markley and Rev. Barry Hooten officiating. Family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 until service time.
