Owen Cole

Owen Cole, 85 of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Winter Haven Health and Rehab Center.

He was born on July 21, 1930 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Lewis and Cynthia (Shepard) Cole and he has been a resident of this area since 1979 moving here from Wabash, Indiana. He was a retired Foreman with Proctor and Gamble. Owen was a manager and vender for Sunshine Flea Market, he was a veteran of Korea serving in the US Army and was a member of the Golfview Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie B. Cole in 2005, son, Steven J. Cole in 2004, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include his sons, Danny J. Cole and wife Tracy of Wabash, Indiana, Gregory Cole and wife Donna, Lake Wales, Mark Cole and wife Renee of Lake Wales; brothers, William “Bill” Cole of Water Vliet, Michigan, Belve Cole of Wabash, Indiana, Raymond Cole of Hazard, Kentucky; sister, Evelyn Turner of Lexington, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Brother Denny Cothern officiating. Interment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 am until service time.
