Orvin Cockrell, 94

Orvin Cockrell of Lake Wales passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Advent Health Lake Wales.

He was born September 26, 1926 in Beverlyville, Virginia to the late Orvin and Mary Cockrell; he moved to Lake Wales in 1974. Orvin was a retired business owner in the Ice and Seafood business and was a veteran of the United States Navy who served in World War II. After retirement, he managed College Park for Warner University. He was a member of South Lake Wales Church of God and loved to fly airplanes.

Orvin was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Cockrell in 2008; brother, Edward Dewey Cockrell, Sr.; and sister, Mary Phyllis Dameron. He is survived by his sons, Orvin “Raymond” Cockrell, Sr. of Burgess, Virginia, and Dennis “Dean” Cockrell of Caret, Virginia; sister, Cynthia Faye Braun of Burgess, Virginia; grandchildren, Orvin Raymond Cockrell, Jr. and William Brandon Cockrell; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Rose Cockrell, William Bryce Cockrell, Brandon Chadwich Cockrell, and Robert Chase Cockrell.
