Orville W Dawes

Orville W. Dawes, 79 of Frostproof, Florida passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Osprey Point Nursing Center in Bushnell due to Cancer.

He was born June 4, 1935 to the late Willie Q. and Veda (Arnold) Dawes and has been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired office manager for the Ben Hill Griffin Fertilizer Company, a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea and was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Frostproof.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Sandra J. Dawes of Frostproof, Fl.; daughter Denise Shirley and Husband Rick of Webster, Fl.; sons, Greg Dawes and wife Debby of Orlando, Fl., Glen Dawes and wife Theresa of Pasadena, Ca.; sisters, Geral Marie Allison of Bowling Green, Fl., Yvonne Peavy of Lakeland, Fl.; brother Ken Dawes of Vero Beach, Fl., 7 grandchildren Allen Shirley and wife Desa, Ryan Shirley and wife Anna ,Kyle Dawes and wife Sarah, Katelyn Acevedo and husband Alex, Lynnea Dawes, Tucker Dawes, Alexia Dawes and 3 great grandchildren Cheyenne Shirley, Rylee Shirley, Austin Shirley.

Visitation will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, July 16, 2014 until service time at 2:00PM at the 1st Baptist Church in Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating and Interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. At 10:00am Thursday, July 17, 2014.

In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to 1st Baptist Church Memorial fund at 96 West B Street, Frostproof, and Fl. 33843.
