Noma Caulie Lasseter

Noma Caulie Lasseter, 90, of Lakeland passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 26, 1919 in Adel, Georgia as one of eleven children to the late Lessie & Mary Nan Lasseter; he moved to Lakeland 14 years ago from Lake Wales where he lived since 1941. He retired as major from the Lake Wales Police Department and was a member of the First Christian Church of Lake Wales. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Lake Wales and enjoyed fishing, hunting and flower & vegetable gardening.

Noma was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Alice Lasseter. Survivors include his daughters, Rita Ann Lasseter Rucks & Brent of Okeechobee, Annette Lasseter Whingham & Harris of Auburndale and Vickie Lasseter Sumner & Larry of Lakeland; sisters, Bessie Massey, Stella Hall and Betty Shields; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Gandy Cemetery in Connersville.
