Niven G. Owings, 92

Niven G. Owings of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at her childhood home surrounded by her children.

She was born November 8, 1932 in Sebring to the late Fletcher and Adena Gardner; she has been a lifelong resident of Lake Wales. It started here with Spring Lake Farm providing the community with the best chocolate milk her dad could make. Then returning and starting a nationally known morgan horse farm with a champion bloodline. She served the community as a real estate agent at Century 21 then opened her own real estate agency, Niven Owings Realty. After retiring as a real estate broker, she returned to the farm, continuing her passion for Morgan Horses, the University of Florida Gators, antiques, and family genealogy.

Niven was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Owings; and sister, Beth Evans. She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Pinto (Albert) of Naperville, Illinois and Kristal Homoki (Kurt) of Tennessee; sons, Jeffrey Owings of Winter Haven and Michael Owings (Terah) of Lake Wales; brother, Fletcher Gardner, Jr. of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
