Nettie Ruth Watson

Nettie Ruth Watson, 89, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Grace Health Care. She was born on September 21, 1926 in Opp, Alabama to the late Jesse and Lola (Harrison) Cumbie and she has been a resident of this area since the 1940’s moving here from Milton, Florida. She was retired from Hunt Brothers and attended Grace Baptist Church. Following retirement from Hunt Brothers she worked with her husband in the commercial fishing business. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Watson Survivors include her daughters, Janet Mathews ( Van) of Lake Wales, Joanne Simpson (Elijah) of Lake Wales; sisters, Faye Pritz of Lake Wales, Eloise Caraway of Waverly Kate Money of Pensacola, Jessie Pearl Fortune of Ft. Walton, Fl., Bobbie Winchester of Albany, GA; brother, Donald Cumbie of Milton, FL; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry Beatty officiating. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 am until service time.
