Nelson Ortiz Gutierrez, 69

Nelson Ortiz Gutierrez of Haines City passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

He was born August 5, 1954 in Humacao, Puerto Rico to the late Castor and Maria Ortiz; he moved to Haines City from Ohio eight years ago. Nelson was an iron maker. He loved music, cooking, dancing, and his family.

Nelson is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eylin F. Vega; children, Efrain Ortiz of Lake Wales, Maggie Ortiz of Redding, Pennsylvania, William Ortiz and wife Onery of Redding, Pennsylvania, Heriberto Ortiz and wife Gloria of Haines City, and Nelson Ortiz and wife Sonia of Pennsauken, New Jersey; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled at this time. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
