Naomi Ford

Naomi Ford, 91, of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Dove Health Care.

She was born October 17, 1918 in Bowling Green to the late Clayton & Daisy Durrance; she moved from Bowling Green to Frostproof in 1923 and came to Lake Wales in 1999. She was retired from Keen Fruit Company of Frostproof and was a member of First Baptist Church in Frostproof since 1931. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Naomi was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer Ford in 1975, parents and a brother, Grady Durrance. Survivors include her daughters, Susie Smith of Lake Wales and Paula Melvin of Winter Haven; son, Bobby Ford of Lake Placid; four grandchildren, Tim Davis, Toni Paulino, Allie Ford and Dylan Smith; and one great-granddaughter, Brooke Davis.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 10, 2010 and the funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Cornerstone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd., N.W., Winter Haven, Florida 33881.
