Myrtle M. Stanford, 86

Myrtle M. Stanford of Lake Wales passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

She was born August 16, 1933 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky to the late Robert and Vernie (Crum) McVey; she came here from Chicago, Illinois in 1971. She was a retired productions supervisor for Washington Mills. Myrtle loved to travel through the Kentucky mountains for family reunions, loved being a grandma, and was a wonderful caretaker for many. She was of the Nazarene Faith.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Stanford in 2016; stepsons, Larry Stanford, and Lyle Stanford; and brother, Johnnie McVey. Survivors include her sons, David Irelan of Ormond Beach, and Robert McVey of Chicago, Illinois, David Irelan of Sanford; daughters, Kelley Jurnigan of Dover, and Christine Elliott of Lake Wales; stepson, Dwyane Stanford of Ft. Myers; brothers, Roy McVey of Dunkirk, Indiana and Bennie McVey of Yellville, Arkansas; sister, Naomi Cook of Muncie, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Due to CDC recommendations, the family will be having a private family service on Friday April 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
