Myrtle “Mickey” Smithers, 84

Myrtle “Mickey” Smithers of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at her residence.

She was born April 18, 1937 in Canieville, Kentucky to the late Connerd and Sarah Parsley; she moved to Lake Wales from Tennessee in 1984. Mickey was retired from Marriott Hotel and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Mickey was preceded in death by her husband, Boice F. “Smitty” Smithers. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Guinn and husband Wesley of Bristol, Tennessee, Vickie Sewell of Lake Wales, and Nancy Whaley and husband Rick of Lake Wales; sons, Boice F. Smithers of New York, and Darrell Smithers and wife Sherrie of Haines City; sisters, Fay Parsley of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Dean Eldridge of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Doris Eldridge of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, and Vaughn Bruce of Louisville, Kentucky; brothers, Paul Parsley of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, John Parsley of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Kevin Parsley of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
