Murray Wilson

Murray Wilson of Lakeland passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 16, 1952 in Avon Park, grew up in Frostproof, and moved to Lakeland from Black Mountain, NC five years ago. He was a retired self-employed insurance salesman for Carolina Consulting in North Carolina, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Frostproof, and he was a multiple sport athlete at Frostproof High School. Murray enjoyed coaching baseball, and golfing. He is also a former member of the Lake Wales Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, Grady Wilson. Survivors include his mother, Mary D. Wilson; daughter, Tricia Harper (Scott) of St. Pete; son, Lance Grady Wilson of Winter Haven; brother, Mark Wilson (Gail) of Lakeland; and one grandchild, Lauren.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2011, with visitation from 2:00-3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Frostproof. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
