Murray Green

Murray Green, Age 81, passed away at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, FL on Saturday February 25 th @ 7:05 P.M.

Murray was born May 2 nd , 1935 in New Liskeard, Ontario, Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Green and Marjorie (Phillips) Green, and siblings Bobby, Donald, Ronald and twin sisters Marilyn and Jacqueline.

He married his sweetheart, Diane Artico, in Windsor, Ontario on December 26, 1959 shortly after he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served from 1959 to 1962 in Augsburg, Germany. Murray and Diane returned from Germany and settled in Warren, Michigan where they welcomed three boys; Brent, Steven and Richard. The family moved to Frankenmuth, Michigan in 1973.

Murray worked as a skilled tradesman for Buick Division of General Motors until his retirement in 1998. Murray and Diane lived in northern Michigan for the first few years following retirement, then moved to Saddlebag Lake Resort in Lake Wales, FL. Murray enjoyed hunting, gardening, weightlifting and he ran in several 10K races. He was a devoted family man who had a passion for history and for his two countries.

Murray is survived by Diane, his wife of 57 years, sons and daughters-in-law, Brent (Holli) of Oxford, MI, Steven (Phyllis) of Cecelia, KY and Richard (Susan) of Centerville, VA as well as eight grandchildren Jonathan, Richard, Jr., Zachary, Elijah, Olivia, Charlie, Sophia and Henry. A memorial service will be held 10:00AM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Saddlebag Resort Community Church, Lake Wales, Florida.
