Mike Horton
March 11, 1961 — January 24, 2011
Mike Horton of Lake Wales passed away Monday, January 24, 2011 at the Tampa General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 11, 1961 in Lakeland and has been a lifelong resident of Polk County. He was the meat production supervisor at Buckhead Beef and was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Lake Wales Moose Lodge, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Nascar fan.
Survivors include his son, Aaron Horton of Apopka; father, Gene Horton of Frostproof; mother, Laura Peek and husband, Marrell of Pensacola; a brother, Carl Horton & wife, Gerri of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 27, 2011 and the funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, January 28,2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Bryan Legg officiating.
