Michael J. "Wedge" Wright

Michael J. "Wedge" Wright of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, February 04, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

He was born November 03, 1955 in Merced, CA to George & Phyllis Wright; he came here 35 years ago from South Carolina. He was a lineman for Progress Energy and a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and IBEW. He was a Florida Gator fan and enjoyed hunting, golfing and being with his friends and family.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, George Ernest Wright and a brother, Patrick Wright. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Denise Blocker Wright; daughter, Shannon Wright of Lake Wales; son, Joshua Wright (fiancée, Kari Hazelwood) of Winter Haven; mother, Phyllis Wright of Sumter, SC; sister, Susan Clukey of IL; and several cousins, including David Bagienski of Lake Wales.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Anthony Bluett officiating.
