Michael Thomas Weening

Michael Thomas Weening, 61, of Frostproof, FL, formerly of Middlebury, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Advent Health in Sebring Florida, his passing was very unexpected and was due to natural causes. He was born on September 30, 1961, in Lincoln Park, MI, to Gary and Nancy (Penz) Weening. On August 6, 1990, in Elkhart he married Colleen Fletcher, she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are daughter, Heather (Michael) Rutherford of Westcliffe, CO; two grandchildren, Grace and Lucas Rutherford; a sister, Margaret “Missey” (Donald) “D.J.” Moore of Allen Park, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Mark Weening. Mike had worked as a plumbing contractor for most of his life; he began Michael's Plumbing Services in 1996 and then retired after 20 years of being self-employed. He was a US Navy veteran serving from 1980 to 1984 and was a member of the American Legion Post 210 in Middlebury. He was a very outgoing person who enjoyed socializing with others, often discussing politics. He enjoyed collecting and constructing N Scale model trains.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm on Wednesday November 23, 2022, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury.

Funeral services will follow visitation beginning at 2:00 pm also on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given to Wounded Warriors or Shriners International.
