Michael S. “Mike” Mercer, 57, of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008 at his residence.

Born May 3, 1950 in Lake Wales; he was a lifelong resident of the Lake Wales and Avon Park areas. He was a machinist for D.M.S. Corp. in Lake Wales, and served in the U.S. Marines during the Viet Nam era. He was raised Pentecostal faith, an avid gun enthusiast, and a former truck driver.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley & Lucille Mercer, and brother, Ellis Mercer. Survivors include daughter, Kelly Thornton of Stark, FL; son, Michael S. Monnier of CA; brother, David Mercer of Babson Park; sister, Linda McCollers of Chipley, FL; and grandchildren, Jasmine, Tyler, Caleb and Michael.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Ridge Community Church of God, 623 S.R. 542 East, Dundee, FL.
