Michael Wayne Denby, 56

Michael Wayne Denby of Frostproof passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at AdventHealth Sebring.

He was born September 16, 1966 in Avon Park to the late James and Dorothy Denby; he has been a lifelong resident of Frostproof. Michael was a retired Master Detention Deputy for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and worked for the school board and as an adjunct professor at Polk State College. He was the past Vice Mayor for Frostproof for many years. Michael loved to cook, drink Coke, and watch football, especially the Florida Gators and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Michael was preceded in death by his brother, James Larry Denby; and sister, Belinda Lanier. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Joni Denby; and son, Zachary Denby of Frostproof.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2022 at Southside Baptist Church in Frostproof. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Southside Baptist Church in Frostproof with Pastor Michael J. Arms officiating.
