Merle Alma Knoll

Merle Alma Knoll of Frostproof passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

She was born August 11, 1923 in Holland, MI to the late Edward & Henrietta (Kooyers) Hop; and she moved to Frostproof from Jenison, MI 6 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Frostproof.

Merle was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Knoll. Survivors include her daughter, Avis Hunt (Larry) of Sebring, FL; sons, Dwight Knoll (Gerda) of Cape Coral, FL, Lane Knoll (Barbara) of Holland, MI, Curtis Knoll (Cheryl) of Holland, MI and Ross Knoll (Amy) of Lake Wales, FL; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church in Frostproof with Rev. Buzzy Elder officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
