MELVIN CHANDLER BANKS, 83
Melvin C. Banks of Indian Lake Estates, Florida passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.
He was born September 13, 1934 in Deposit, New York to the late Fred and Louise (Rudolph) Banks. He has been a resident of the area since 1999 coming from Afton, New York. He worked 37 years for the Amphenol Corporation in Sidney, New York. Melvin was a member of the Moose Lodge in Sidney New York. He enjoyed flower gardening and took great joy in taking care of his yard and camping.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Donna Banks and first wife Vesta Banks.
He was survived by his wife of 45 years Joan S. Banks, daughter Darlene Wilkins of Greene, NY, sons Steven Banks (Marjorie) of Franklin, NY sisters Florence Terry of Franklin, NY, brothers Fred Banks Jr. of Franklin, NY, Lee Banks of Halifax, VA, Kenny Banks, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Service will be held in Unadilla New York under the direction of Westcott Funeral Home at 123 Main Street Unadilla, New York 13849.
