Melvin W. Baldree, Sr. of Lake Wales passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.
He was born January 14, 1933 in Jacksonville to the late Aaron P. & Dollie D. (Kersey) Baldree, Sr.; he came here from Caryville in 1996. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service after retiring from the U.S. Navy as a MMCM, where he served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was of the Church of God faith and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2420 in Lake Wales, the D.A.V and N.A.L.C.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey McCullough Baldree; daughter, A. Annette Baldree of Lake Wales; sons, Melvin W. Baldree, Jr. (Susan) of Clermont, James S. Baldree of Marianna, Dennis A. Baldree (Pandora) of Fountain Inn, SC and Steven W. Baldree (Terri) of Melbourne; sisters, Hester R. Gewecke of Kearney, NE and Elizabeth M. Parton of Huntsville, TN; brothers, Earl E. Baldree of Opp, AL, Alvin E. Baldree of Pensacola, John L. Baldree of Trinity Center, CA, James W. Baldree of Zephyrhills, Lonnell G. Baldree of Brooksville and David M. Baldree of Hudson; and seven grandchildren, Thomas, Cody, Jacob, Dylan, Riley, Andrew and Brady.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Lonnell Baldree officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at the Ehren Cemetery in Land O' Lakes.
