WOODSTOCK, GA--Melba J. Owens of Woodstock, GA died Friday, February 09, 2007 in Georgia. She was 71.

Born November 23, 1935 in Coffee Springs, AL; she came to Lake Wales from Sour Lake, TX in 1975 and moved to Georgia 2 years ago. She was the retired owner of Owens Bait & Tackle. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, Bob N. Owens in 2000. Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Goad of Woodstock, GA; Sheila Wilson of Bronson; Songel Gable of Lake Wales; brothers, Bruce Anderson of Old Town; Steve Anderson of Oktaha, OK; sisters, Mary Revell of Davenport; Kathy Young of Lakeland; 6 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. Glenda Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
