Mavis Marie Jenkins Brackin

Mavis Brackin 78, of Frostproof, Florida passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Brandywyne Health Care Center in Winter Haven due to complications of Dementia.

She was born December 10, 1934 in Frostproof, Florida to the late Walter and Palice (McSwain) Jenkins and has been a lifelong resident of the area. She was retired from the United States Postal Service having spent the majority of her career in the Frostproof, a graduate of Frostproof High School and was of the Church of God faith.

Mavis was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Jenkins.

She is survived by her son, Darrell Brackin of Okeechobee; daughter Sylvia Branch of Frostproof; brother, Joel Jenkins of Frostproof; sisters, Janice Troutman of Lake Wales, Eudene Williams of Arlington, TX; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 08, 2013 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating.

Interment will be held at the Silver Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 Pm until service time.
