Mavis Marie Brown, 78

Mavis Marie Brown of Lake Wales passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

She was born May 14, 1946 in Coffee Springs, Alabama to the late Connie and Emma Richardson; she has been a life long resident of the area. Mavis was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. She loved fishing and gardening but loved her family above all else.

Mavis was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, E.L. Brown in 2020; parents, Connie and Emma Richardson; brother, Winford Eugene Richardson; sister, Minnie Lee Dowdy; and step-grandson, Joseph Woodham. She is survived by her son, Darrell Brown of Lake Wales; daughter, Malena Marie Brown Woodham of Lake Wales; sisters, Martha R. Dease of Lake Wales and Elizabeth Medlin of Lake Wales; brother, Jerry Richardson of Lake Wales; grandchildren, Aaron Lomneck (Morgan), Kyle Lomneck (Patience), Cody Lomneck, Logan Lomneck and wife Amanda, Dawnie Lomneck (Daniel), Leanna Brown; and great-grandchild, Leighton Jay Lomneck.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
