Mauvaline Wilbanks

Mauvaline Wilbanks, 85, of Frostproof, passed away 9/27/2014 at Winter Haven Hospital of natural causes.

Born on November 24, 1928 in Fulton, Mississippi to Jeff and Lillie (Rogers) Hood she moved to Frostproof from Fulton 50 years ago. She loved gardening, flower arranging and was an expert southern cook. She will be greatly missed, but will long be remembered for her strong faith in God and for the love that she had for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Travis Wilbanks; siblings: Velma Taylor, Ruby Dulaney, Verbal Schafran, Pervie Hood and William Hood.

Survivors include her children: Janet Lee, Winter Haven; Jerry Wilbanks; Brenda (Dell) Danes and Michael (Kellie) Wilbanks all of Frostproof: Sisters: Jackie Goff and Lavern Stinson: Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home chapel in Frostproof with Funeral services at 11:00 AM. Her nephew Tim Hood will be officiating. Burial will follow at Silver hill Cemetery.
