Maureen Jones

Maureen Elizabeth Jones, 91 of Frostproof, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2015.

She was born October 26, 1923 in Corby, England to the late Edgar C. and Agnes Ruby (Hector) Burbidge and has been a Frostproof resident since 1960. After retiring from Waverly Growers as a Citrus Grader, she spent her time cultivating her English garden, caring for her beloved animals, spending time with family and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Jones in 1967; son, Terry Jones in 1995 and her longtime companion, Jim Littleford. Also her brothers Walter Burbidge, Hector Burbidge and Terry Burbidge.

She is survived by her daughter Heather Singleton and husband Bob of Plant City; 2 grandchildren, Brett Singleton, Stacey Singleton Whitman (Andrew); 2 great grandchildren, Madison Whitman and Spencer Whitman

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the First Christian Church, Frostproof with Pastor Ken Parrott officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kenya Kids Orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya, C/O Victory Church, Lakeland, Florida or the Salvation Army.
