LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Mattie Lee Bunch of Lake Wales died of pneumonia Friday (March 17, 2006) at home. She was 93.

Born in Century on Oct. 20, 1912, she came to Lake Wales from Sebring in 1926. She was a meat wrapper for Publix for 25 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. She was a Baptist.

Mrs. Bunch was preceded in death by her husband, D.S. Bunch. She is survived by her daughters, Sara Ammons Steger, Alvine Bunch Walker, Kay Bunch Herndon, all of Winter Haven, Nell Ammons Melton, Lula Mae Bunch Haines, Margaret Bunch Trammell, Peggy Bunch Howell, all of Lake Wales, Selma Bunch Carruth, Marie Bunch Harper, both of Bartow, Winona Bunch Pitts, New York; sons, Curtis Dee Ammons II, Lake Wales, Sgt. Charles E. Green, Alaska; brother, Edward Wilkinson, Lake Wales; 39 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lake Wales Cemetery.
