Mary Magdeline Wise

Mary Magdeline Wise, 94, of Frostproof, Florida passed away, Friday, October 2, 2020 at her residence.  She was born February 15, 1926 in Bereah to the late James Warren and Jennett (Lightsey) Bennett and has been a lifelong resident of this area.  She was a self-employed Cosmetologist. She enjoyed working in her yard.  Her family was very important to her. She was an excellent cook and always enjoyed preparing food for the family, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was of Primitive Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. W. “Jake” Wise, her sons, James Wesley Wise, Glen Junior Wise and J. T. Wise; her daughter Mildred Hinckley; her son-in-law, Thomas Croley, grandsons, Steven Wade McCarter, and Rudy Wise; great grandson, Michael Jones.  Mary was also preceded in death by her eight siblings.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Guelda Wise, daughter Tenny Croley Ogburn (Terry) and daughter Lynette Wise Vermillion (Jeff).  Her grandchildren Tammy Croley Ard  (Mike), Thad Croley (Jan), Donna Carter Ogburn (Harley), Noah Ogburn (Catherine), Wendy Wise Hull (Kevin), Shelley Wise Camp (Jeff), Aubrey Wise, Jason Vermillion (Chris) Josh Vermillion (Becky), Justin Vermillion (Kristen), Dale Encinosa (George), Kathy Patterson (Pat), Keith Hinckley (Laura), Ken Hinckley, Doug Wise (Cindy), Clint Wise (Cathy), Linda Wise, William Wise (Kay), Thomas Wise ( Emily) Jerry Wise and Sherlay Wise Stimson. A host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Private family graveside service will be held.
