Mary Lou Underly

Mary Lou Underly of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born August 19, 1934 in Essex, MO to the late Burl Houston & Maggie Lena (Cadle) Lyles; she came here from Richland, MI in 1996. She was a retired legal secretary and was a very active member of the Wayside Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher, loved to read, started a weight-loss group at Saddlebag, a member of the Women's Club and enjoyed fishing and playing mahjong.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gordon James Underly. Survivors include her son, John Richard Underly of Grand Rapids, MI; sister, Evelyn Janice Elkins (Bobby) of Lake Wales; and six grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Wayside Baptist Church in Lake Wales with Pastor Herb Schlenker officiating.
