Mary Veletta Strange

Mary V. Strange of Lake Wales passed away August 18, 2015, at Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born April 20, 1929, in Erwin, NY to the late Roland and Olive Angst; and she has been a resident of Lake Wales since 2002. She was a homemaker and member of the Christ Central Church. She was known for her beautiful handwriting with over 100 pen pals, enjoyed traveling with her husband and was a dedicated mother.

Survivors include her husband of 13 years, James Strange; daughters, Regina Shelhammer of Mile City, Montana, Marlene Garner of Shreveport, LA, and Marie Brown of Lake City, FL; stepdaughter, Susan Newton of Lake Wales, FL; son, Tommy Fletcher of Devile, LA,; stepson, James Robert Strange, Jr. of Ocala, FL.; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2015, at Christ Central Church in Lake Wales with Rev. John Cannon officiating.
