Mary T. Stallons

Mary T. Stallons of Frostproof passed away April 5, 2009 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

She was born September 3, 1923 in Palatka, FL; she came here in 1970 from Miami. She was a retired teacher for Frostproof Elementary School and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Frostproof. She enjoyed reading and traveling. She also did some sports writing and human interest stories for the Frostproof News.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle M. Stallons Sr., sons, David M. Stallons and Doyle M. Stallons Jr. Survivors include her sons, Stephen M. Stallons and wife, Pattie, of Frostproof and Allen Sheppard and wife, Virginia, of Green Cove; brother, Joe Townsend of Gloster, LA; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Frostproof with Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
