Mary L Rimer

July 26, 1913 — September 8, 2013

Mary L. Rimer, 100, of Lake Wales, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at her residence.

A native of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, she moved to Lake Wales from Miami, Florida in 1983. After graduating from S.E. Missouri University, she taught school for three years before going to work for the U.S. Government. She worked in Washington, D.C., New York, N.Y, Lima, Peru, Miami, Florida and Rio de Janerio, Brazil as an Administrative Assistant with the Federal Aviation Administration for some 25 years. She was a member of Golfview Baptist Church in Lake. Wales.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis M. Rimer; her parents, John and Bessie Hoffman; her sister, Martha L. Chronister; and brothers, William D. Hoffman and John R. Hoffman, Jr., all of Missouri.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Constance H. Hoffman and Eula Faye Rimer of Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.

She loved to sew, travel, take pictures, attend gem shows, cut and polish stones and make jewelry. She was a member of the Imperial Bone Valley Gem, Mineral and Fossil Society as well as The All Rock hound Club of America.

Visitation will take place 9:00 AM Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Golfview Baptist Church with services at 10:00 AM Rev. David Koon officiating. Interment will be held in Miami, Florida
