Mary C. Mitchell

Mary C. Mitchell, 93, of Winter Haven, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, at her home.
Born January 11, 1930, in Dover, Delaware to the late George and Lena (Baker) Clendaniel, she moved to Polk County 27 years ago.
She was a prayer warrior, loved to dress up, loved her family and was a stickler for having a clean house.
But most of all, she wanted to go home to be with Jesus.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Mitchell, and two sons, Ronnie and Tommy Childress.

Survivors include her son Dennis Childress and his wife Debbie of Winter Haven, FL; her sister Sallie Dill of Dover, DE; 3 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held for her on Monday, November 13th, at 10:00 AM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.

Officiating will be Pastor Roy Wilkinson III. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL following the service.
