Mary E. McCall, “Mama McCall” 94 of Frostproof, Florida passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Somers Hospice House in Sebring.
She was born on February 1, 1921 in Cruso, North Carolina to the late Matt Love and Sara (Mann) Burress and she has been a resident of the Frostproof area since the early 195o’s moving here from North Carolina. She was a retired Citrus Grader for Proctor and Gamble. Mary was a school crossing guard for many years, she was a strong supporter of law enforcement and attended the First Baptist Church of Frostproof.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy McCall; sons, David McCall, Larry McCall and grandson, Glen Whaley, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters, Annette McCall Whaley and husband Glen of Frostproof, Karen McCall Williams and husband Albert of Arcadia; daughter n law, Judy McCall Plemmons; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Silver Hill Cemetery with Henry Ware and Grady Judd officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Frostproof.
