Mary Jean Galloway

Mary Jean Galloway, born on February 8, 1937, in Belgrade Lakes, Maine, passed away on September 20, 2026, at Melech Hospice House.

Mary was a devoted homemaker and an excellent caregiver for her family. She was also the handywoman around the house, always ready to take care of the work that needed to be done. Her love for her family showed in the everyday ways she cared for them and in the time she spent making a home filled with comfort and strength.

She loved to fish and enjoyed playing games with her children, creating memories that remained close to the hearts of those who knew her best. Mary was a member of Christian's Women's Club of Lake Wales and also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven. Her faith, her service to her family, and her steady presence were important parts of her life.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Galloway; her son, Robert Galloway; her father, Leighton Castle; and her mother, Cora Augusta Mills.

She is survived by her sons, Lamar Galloway and his wife, Crystal, of Plant City, and Paul Galloway and his wife, Penny, of Palm Bay; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on September 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
