Mary Dickerson

Mary Madeline Dickerson of Winter Haven, formerly of Bloomington, IL, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 31, 2015. She was 85.

She was born December 13, 1929 in Springfield, IL, and was the only child of Bess Bowers and her step-father, Robert Harris. She married Jimmie Otto Dickerson on November 10, 1950. They spent most of their life together in central Illinois before relocating to Winter Haven in 1997. Together they loved traveling to Key West, tending to their white orchids, and being with family and friends. He preceded her in death in 2005.

She was also preceded in death by her much loved daughter, Mary Suzanne Albert, who died in 2010. She is survived by her son, Mark of Bourbonnais, IL; granddaughter, Jody of Plano, TX; grandson, Jay (Hillary) of Galena, IL; three great-grandchildren, Lillian, Maya and Ruby; and son-in-law, Bill Albert of Lincoln, IL.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will take place at Camp Butler VA Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
