Marvin Lacy, formerly of Lake Wales, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 in Fort Worth, Texas
He was born February 23, 1927 in Ashland, Alabama to John Beamon & Catherine Cordelia (Parsons) Lacy; he came to Lake Wales in 1948 from Anthony, FL and moved to Texas in 2007. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, was a longtime member of the Golfview Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Frances Lacy; daughter, Linda Dickey of North Richland Hills, Texas; son, Charles Darrell Lacy of West Palm Beach; brother, Maurice Lacy of Ocala; sisters, Doris Howard, Mary Owens and Joyce Detlefsen all of Anthony; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Golfview Baptist Church in Lake Wales with visitation at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
