MARTIN L. WARING SR.,  67

Martin L. Waring, Sr. of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his residence.

He was born February 4, 1952 in West Palm Beach to the late Malcolm and Ann Waring; he came here from Brooksville in 1994. He was a retired truck driver for Publix and Walmart, of the Baptist faith and a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley with his brother.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Richard Waring and Andy Waring.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Barbara S. Waring; daughters, Rhonda L. Wood (Randy) of Lakeland, Rita Robinson (Scott) of Brooksville, Rhonda L. Ziegler (Steven) of Spring Hill and Lacey Lawson (TJ) of Lake Wales; son, Martin L. Waring, Jr. (Lisa) of Lakeland; brother, David Waring, Sr. (Connie) of Fort McCoy; sisters-in-law, Martha Waring and Linda Waring both of Lakeland; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. For those who wish, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
