LAKE WALES--Martha Jane Carden, 50, of Lake Wales died of heart failure Monday, August 27, 2007 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born September 11, 1956 in Lake Wales; she has been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a secretary at Ridge Technical Center in Winter Haven and was of the Protestant faith.

Mrs. Carden was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelsey Johnson. Survivors include her daughter, Heather Carden of Lake Wales; son, Christopher Carden of Lake Wales; brother, Paul T. Thompson Jr. of Lake Wales; sisters, Connie Taylor of Lake Wales; Sarah Caraway of Lake Wales; granddaughter, Kayleigh Johnson of Lake Wales.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Jim Furno officiating.
